Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed for potential issues by the Transportation Department, which will not allow signs to be approved, over the counter. Additional time will be required for on-site inspection. J { Cicyof Carlsbad Re: Viasat Signage Re-Brand for West Campus -Ministerial Amendment to Legacy North Pointe Sign Program 99-77(A) The purpose of this memorandum is to summarize: 1) the ministerial amendment to Sign Program 99-77(A) -Legacy North Pointe; and 2} staff's approval ofthe sign applications for the Viasat Signage Re-Brand for the West Campus. Two signs permits have been submitted as part of the Viasat Signage Re-Brand sign application: 1} a 36.1 square feet wall sign at 6155 El Camino Real; and 2) a 36.1 square feet wall sign at 6191 El Camino Real. The two signs are consistent with the Sign Ordinance, Carlsbad Municipal Code (CMC) Section 21.41.095, which allows signs up to 70 square feet for the subject buildings, whereas Sign Program 99-77(A) limits the maximum size to 35 square feet. Per CMC Section 21.41.060.C, staff is authorized to approve ministerial sign programs that comply with the Sign Ordinance. Since the proposed 36.1 square feet signs comply with the Sign Ordinance and staff can approve sign programs that comply with the Sign Ordinance, staff is amending the sign program 99-77(A) to allow Building 1 and 4 to have 36.1 square feet wall signs.
