Planning Director (City of Carlsbad):
I am sending this letter to bring to your attention, a serious problem that has
come upon ne, that I hope you can solve. After I present the following.
We have a Nursery (JOY'S NURSERY) that is located of from the road on an unimpro-
ve easement of "Costa Real.Water District" and it is the only way to get to the
property. Our address is "El Camino Real" but we are 3/4 of a mile from the actual
"El Camino Real" on a bad dirt road, that without knowing our bussines is there
nobody would drive.
I erected a sign to direct the public to us, because even using other type of ad-
vertising people won't find our number of "El Camino Real" without the sign, pa-
ssing by several times and finaly given up to never return.
I know that (Section 18.20.005 of Municipal code) has a reason to be there, but
if I am not permited to have my sign, I may be force to get broke and out of
bussines. I have no problem to pay the appropriate permits for this sign.
I am sure that you are a man of understanding and will see that the conditions
of the situacion are extremely different where this code is normaly applicable.
