Harrington Code Enforcement Officer City of Carlsbad 2075 Las Palmas Drive Carlsbad, CA. 92008 SIGNS AT 5810 EL CAMINO REAL After receipt of your letter dated June 12, 1989, I contacted you regarding resolution of the matter. You referred me to Anne Hysong of the Building Planning Department. I called the Building Planning Department 3 times on each June 14, 1989 and June 15, 1989, and have left multiple messages requesting that Anne Hysong contact me, but as yet she has not returned my calls. I would hope that due to the limited time given me to resolve the matter in your letter of June 12, 1989, you would accept this letter as my attempt to comply with your request. I obtained a "Sign Permit" form and a copy of the "Signs" ordinance and have attached what I interpret as the necessary documentation for your review. Thank you, Thomas L. Brammell, President T. E. Brammell, Inc. 3342 Ba jo Court Carlsbad, CA. 92009 SIGN PERMIT - 5810 El Camino Real The awnings currently installed at the sight were installed in compliance with City of Carlsbad Building Permit Number 881577, copies of which are on file with the City of Carlsbad along with the requisite number of drawings. The space we occupy has 35 feet of frontage on Faraday Avenue, and my application of your "Table 1-Area of signs" subsection "All other zones" yields an allowable square footage of 52.5 square feet (35 time one and five-tenths). We have painted the name of the deli on the awning in letters which when calculated according to 21.41.030 (11) yields a resultant square footage of 22.5 square feet (15 feet x 18 inches). I would hope that this shows that our sign is well within the ordinance and would grant us the necessary documentation which you requested in your June 12, 1989 letter. Thomas L. Brammell, President T. E. Brammell, Inc 3342 Bajo Court Carlsbad, CA. 92009
