PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: As a permittee, owner, or person in charge of a sign or signs
located at 850 Palomar Airport Road, Pea Soup Andersen's.
You are hereby notified that the sign or signs have been erected or are being
'maintained in violation of Chapters 18.20 and 21.41 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code.
This is to inform you that Building Permit 90-1 780, Sign Permit 90-56 was issued in
error.
1) Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 21.41.030(A)(B) states that a
"Freeway Service Facility" is one that is located at the apex of a freeway
interchange, consisting of two or more parcels joined in ownership and
such a facility may be permitted a freeway-oriented sign.
The Code only allows one freeway oriented sign and one already exists -
that being the large wall mounted sign.
2) Site Development Plan 80-1 1 (A)(B), approved sign program that did not
approve of a monument sign at the subject location.
3) The Local Coastal Program permits monument signs to be a maximum
of eight feet in height including the mounting. The proposed sign
exceeds the allowable dimensions.
You are hereby ordered to remove said sign or signs, no later than January 24, 1991.
If you do not remove the sign or signs, the sign or signs will be removed by the City,
and the cost of such removal will be charged to you.

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REQUEST A HEARING. If you wish to have a hearing
before the Community Development Director, you must make a written request, filed
with the Director at 2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad, California, 92009, within ten
(1 0) days of the date of mailing of this notice. The hearing is limited to whether the
sign or signs were erected or maintained in violation of the Carlsbad Municipal Code.
