Per our conversation with Pcte @ Advance Signs, I am submitting the wording X ndfor a City letter that will be forwarded to Best Western Tnt'l, hc., regardmg our proposed monument sign.
&st Westcrn has signage s ifications that appl to all properties across the counby , however, acknow p" edging that many loc J ordinances diff'er from require- mcnts F&5t Western sets forth, they bow to the local regulations. This is the case here, as we are advertising a roomprice aImost identical to many other hotel/ motel roperties along the 1-5 comdor, Best Western would like ta us post room rates P or all of our rooms (we have some 8 different rate classi.fications), in- cluding language that identifies the of room and the number of occupants the ratc applies to. Although we have P s information available: to the public in our hotel lobby, it is just not conceivable to place off of this information on a monument slgn. First and forcemost, there is a question of safety, as this much information can not possibly be absorbed by the passing motorist travelling along 1-5 at 55mph. We experienced a similar problem with Best Western when we had erectcd a slrni1a.r sign at another hotel propcrty we opcrate, and once the City outlincd that &st Western rcqui,rerncnts would not be pcrmitkd, Best Western stcppcd aside and allowed us to proceed under City supervision.
I appreciate if you can accommodate us with such Ianguage in a letter that will show Best Wcstcrn that their requested rate information will not be permitted,
