SUBJECT PS 91-88 - CARLSBAD OAKS BUSINESS PARK (DON JOY)
Staff has reviewed your application for a sign program at 2777 Loker Avenue West. The following
issues need to be resolved prior to approving the sign program:

Exhibit "G" needs to be deleted from the program. The sign program should be simple and
easy to follow. Although some text and illustrations found in Exhibit "G may need to be
incorporated into the program, such as the detailed illustration of the monument sign and
the text listing prohibited signs, the exhibit in general should be deleted. In addition, the
text of the sign program should delete any references to the design review
committee and Exhibit "G".
The following statement needs to be incorporated into the program: "In addition to the
requirements within this sign program, as a minimum, all signs must meet the requirements
of Chapter 21.41 of Carlsbad Municipal Code titled Sians and the requirements of Specific
Plan 200 titled Carlsbad Abort Business Center, and any amendments thereafter. If any
conflict between regulations occur, then the most restrictive requirement shall apply."
For minor tenants, signage shall be limited to one sign per tenant. Said sign shall be limited
to 6 inch high letters and a maximum of 4 square feet. ABC Company, which represents a
minor tenant, needs to be limited to one sign located at the entrance. All of the other "ABC
Company" signs shown on the attached building elevation exhibit need to be removed.
The location of the one monument sign permitted on the property needs to be identified on
the site plan. Details of the sign need to be provided. If the sign is to be constructed
according to the details illustrated in exhibit "G", then attach a copy of that illustration to the
program.

Once the above revisions are incorporated into the text and exhibits of the program, please resubmit
three copies of the sign program to my attention. If you have any questions please contact me at
