It is the City's policy not to continue to permit signs that face directly towards the Interstate 5 freeway, unless they are a freeway service oriented business. The sign on the east elevation that faces the freeway may be relocated to either the northern or southern elevation of the building. The sign area allowed on these elevation would be 25 square feet maximum. The sign on the western elevation is approvable as submitted. If you wish to pursue the sign application as submitted, I will have to deny the application. You will then have the option of appealing the denial to the Planning Commission. This could take anywhere from eight to twelve weeks and the fee would be $490.00. If you have any questions regarding the above, please call me at 438-1161 extension 3425. Sincerely, J kc, {$ VAN LYNCH Planning Technician 2075 Las Palmas Drive - Carlsbad. California 92009-1576 - (619) 438-1 161 @
