RE: SIGN PERMIT 93-55 COUNTRY STORE
Dear Mr. Hoffman:
This letter is in regards to your application to replace the existing Marja Acres Store
Directory sign that is adjacent to El Camino Real.
The City has adopted the El Camino Real Corridor Development Standards which regulates
the types of signs that are allowed along the El Camino Real Corridor. The area of the
Country Store calls for wall signs only. Signs can be of wood, plastic or metal and
internally or externally illuminated.
Since the existing sign is non-conforming, the sign can only be maintained, repaired or
painted.
Because the proposed sign does not meet the development standards of the Corridor
Guidelines, the application has been denied. This decision may be appealed to the
Planning Commission within 10 days of receipt of this letter. Appeals must be submitted
in writing to the Planning Department at 2075 Las Palmas Drive in Carlsbad, along with
a payment of $490.00.
