Box 61083 Anaheim, CA 92803-6183 SUBJECT BOSTON CHICKEN AWNING - CARLSBAD PLAZA SOUTH Dear John: Upon further consideration of the subject awning and pursuant to our April 24, 1995 meeting, a decision has been reached regarding resolution of Boston Chicken's awning. Satisfactory resolution of this issue as outlined below will allow the City to process a final occupancy permit and any future sign permit applications submitted by the applicant. The City has determined that Boston Chicken may retain the awning at its current location if they reduce its attention getting impact. Therefore, please remove all back lighting including the electrical system supporting the back lighting fiom the awninfiuilding. Through an inspection to be performed by the City at the applicant's request upon completion of this work, a fa occupancy permit will be issued. In addition to the above requirement, the awning must be entirely removed upon termination of Boston Chicken's lease in the subject commercial center. Also, please note that the Boston Chicken sign on the top of monument sign for the center is not in compliance with the approved sign program for Carlsbad Plaza South. The monument sign must be brought into compliance before future sign permits within the center can be approved. If you have any questions regarding the above determination, plea'se call Anne Hysong at (619) 438-1 161, extension 4477. Assistant Planning Director C: ChrisDecerbo Anne Hysong Rich Rudolf, Asst.
