RE: SIGN PERMIT APPLICATION 95-50
Dear Mr. Hundley:
This letter is to serve as notification of the status of a sign permit application submitted in
October 1995 for your business located at 2655 Carlsbad Boulevard. As previously
communicated to you through numerous correspondences, your sign permit application is
incomplete and the proposed sign exceeds the maximum allowable sign area.
Additionally, the City has requested information to complete the sign pennit application and
revisions to the elevations of your proposed sign. To date, the City has not received such
information. I have noted from previous visits to the site that the sign was removed temporarily
as a monument sign but was later mounted as a wall sign.
Based upon the information submitted, your application has been determined to be incomplete
and the existing signage is not in compliance with the City's Village Design Manual. Therefore,
this matter is being forwarded to the City's Code Enforcement Division, which will requu-e
inmiediate removal of the sign until the appropriate sign permit has been obtained.
If you should have any further questions, please contact my office at 434-2818 or Code
Enforcement at 438-1161.
Sincerely,
LEILANI A. HINES

RE: SIGN PERMIT APPLICATION 95-50
Dear Chuck:
Per our conversation on Wednesday, November 16, 1995, the City has reviewed your request
to consider the building street frontage for the above referenced sign permit application. As
initially indicated to you in a previous correspondence, the City was only allowing the 18 feet
of building street frontage indicated on the site plan. However, in consideration of the use of
your facility, the City will allow you to also include the building frontage referred to as "B",
in the attached site plan, as part of your total building street frontage.
Please note that the Village Design Manual limits the size of total signage for a business based
upon building street frontage. To determine the maximum signage for your business please
employ the following formula: Building Street Frontage x 0.6.
Additionally, as previously indicated, your sign permit application was found to be incomplete.
Please submit to the Housing and Redevelopment Department revised elevations of your
proposed sign, three sets of a site plan, and a revised Page 2 of the application. The original
permit application was not signed by the recorded owner of the property. If the recorded owner
is not available, please have the authorized representative of the property owner to approve the
submittal of this sign permit application.
If you should have any further questions regarding your sign permit, please contact my office
at 434-2818.
Sincerely,
