REVIEW FOR SIGN PERMITS
All plans submitted for sign permitshign programs shall consist of a minimum of a site plan and sign
elevations containing the following information:
1. North arrow and scale.
2. Location of existing buildings or structures, parking areas, and vehicular access points to
the property.
3. Location of all existing and proposed signs for the property.
4. Distance to the property line(s) for all proposed freestanding signs.
5. Provide an elevation for all proposed signs which specifies the following:

C. Proposed sign copy.
Dimensions and area for all existing and proposed signs.
Materials the sign(s) will be constructed of.
APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT THREE (3) SETS OF SIGN/SITE PLANS, A COMPLETED
APPLICATION FORM, AND THE APPLICATION FEE.

Sign Program
The building is designed with 6 suites - #s 10 1 thru 106
The total wall signage allowed is 276 sq. ft. - 46 sq. ft. per suite.
A) Wall signs shall receive a permit from the City of Carlsbad prior to installation.
B) Wall signs shall confirm to the City's sign ordinance and the criteria of this program.
Any change to the sign criteria shall require a formal amendment subject to the Planning
Director's approval.
C) Except for address numbers, suite numbers, and directional signs, all signs shall be limited to
displaying the tenant name and/or logo.
D) Wall signs shall be approved in writing by the Landlord or Property Manager acting as the
agent for the Landlord. Approval shall cover design, layout, materials, and color selection.
Sign materials shall be limited to foam, wood, plastic, metal or other material acceptable to
the Landlord and Planning Director. Letter and/or logo height to be 18" or less and
background decoration, if any, to be no more 30" high. Overall sign area to be no more than
46 sq. ft. times the number of suites leased by the tenant.
