SUBJECT: FREE-STANDING SUBDIVISION SIGN FOR SALTAIRE (CT 95-05)
Dear Bob:
Your request to retain the subdivision sign currently installed on Lot 8 of the subject
subdivision above Hidden Valley Road and facing Palomar Airport Road has been
forwarded to the Planning Department for review by Code Enforcement. As we
previously discussed, the sign does not meet the intent of the Sign Ordinance (Section
21.41.070(4)(0) of the Zoning Ordinance) in that It is “close” rather than “at” a major
approach to the subdivision. To satisfy the intent of the ordinance, piease relocate the
sign at a location adjacent to and facing Hidden Valley Road.
Failure to comply with the Planning Department’s request for sign relocation will result
in the issuance of a Notice of Code Violation requiring the removal of the sign. As I
previously requested, please show the proposed location of this sign on plans
submitted as part of Sign Permit PS 97-136 so that the permanent monument signs for
the Saltaire project can be approved.
