SUBJECT: PS 97-63 - COSTCO WHOLESALE SIGN PERMIT
Dear Mr. Jara:
This letter is in response to our telephone conversation on August 13, 1997. Your sign
permit application will not be processed or approved until the existing signs on the site
are brought into conformance with the existing sign program. As I mentioned, there is
an active sign permit for the approval of the existing signs, however this proposal is
unacceptable because it exceeds the allowable sign area. Please see the attached
letter dated April 3, 1997, addressed to Mulvanny Partnership that discusses the sign
area issues. The previous sign permit (PS 97-73(B)) also includes the monument sign
which you are applying for.
You may wish to coordinate with Costco the additional signs that will be requested for
the fueling station. Costco will need to amend the existing sign program to allow signs
to be placed on the canopy for the fueling station. The signs for the canopy will come
out of the existing sign allowance for the site. No additional square footage will be
allotted for the fueling station.
