RE: PS 98-05 - SUNROAD PLAZA NORTH
Dear Mr. Murdock:
Thank you for you application for a Sign Program for the property located at 205 1 Palomar
Airport Road, in the City of Carlsbad. I have completed a review of the proposed sign program
and there a few items that need to be discussed.
Because Palomar Airport Road is a major circulation roadway, the City wants to maintain and
enhance the appearance of this roadway. This includes limiting the amount of signage allowed
along Palomar Airport Road. By using the sign criteria established by other developments along
the roadway as a guide, the City can ensure that signage will be uniform and equitable.
The signage allowed for the site should not exceed a combined area of 100 square feet for the
building. There should only be four signs for the building with two signs allowed per building
elevation. The monument sign should not exceed 35 square feet (per face) in area. The sign area
for the monument would be just the area of the copy.
