SUBJECT: SIGN PERMIT (PS) 99-99 - VIA SAT SIGNS
Dear Mr. Seeds:
Planning staff is unable to approve the above referenced sign application. The reasons are that 1)
the proposed wall signs are not consistent with the approved Sign Program for the subject site,
and 2) the proposed wall signs are not consistent with the El Camino Real (ECR) Corridor
Development Standards. The approved Sign Program and the ECR standards, specifically those
standards which apply to the segment of ECR where the subject site is located (Area 4), do not
allow the installation of wall signs,
Per your telephone conversation with staff, should you be interested in pursuing the signs as
currently proposed you would need to request an amendment to the approved Special Use Permit
for the Lincoln North Pointe project (SUP 98-03). Given the nature of this amendment, (i.e. a
proposal to add provisions for wall signs at a site where the ECR standards prohibit them) staff
would not likely support your request. Should you still wish however to pursue the amendment
the following items would need to be submitted:
1. A letter requesting an amendment to the approved Special Use Permit. The letter should
describe the amendment request and outline the reasons for the request.
2. Ten (10) copies of the SUP (i.e. site plans and elevations) as proposed to be amended.
This would include diagrams and details (to include color, materials, lighting technique
etc.) of all signs, including existing, presently proposed, and proposed in the future.
3. An SUP amendment application fee of $1450.00.
