ISSUES OF CONCERN

Engineering:
1. Completed Stormwater Requirement Applicability Checklist. This checklist can be
printed from the following website link:
http://www.carlsbadca.gov/engineering/chklstpdf/stormwater-cklist.pdf
2. City Standard GS-15 requires that drainage flow at a minimum 2% positive grade
5 feet away from the building foundation. Along the west side of the property, a 3
foot distance between the building foundation and retaining wall is proposed.
Revise the design to comply with this standard. As an alternative, a letter from a
registered soils engineer giving his recommendations (i.e. deepened footings) for
a lesser distance may suffice. Paving the area with impervious concrete to
prevent soil saturation near the foundation is another option to consider.
If you have any questions regarding the Engineering issues, please contact David Rick at (760)
