Your application has been approved. Attached is a copy of the approved permit for your records. Please note, the approved permit allows an outdoor display as described in the attached permit and depicted on the corresponding site plan. The attached permit allows you to retain your outdoor display for; 1) as long as the Housing and Redevelopment Commission allows outdoor displays to remain, 2) as long as the outdoor display continues to meet the standards outlined within the attached Outdoor Business Display - Location and Development Criteria, and 3) as long as the outdoor display is consistent with this permit approval. A valid Certificate of Insurance is required for as long as the outdoor display continues to be placed within the public right-of-way. Most importantly, your outdoor display must be placed perpendicular to the building within the area shown on the attached site plan in order to meet the City's requirements for outdoor displays. Over the years, these assignments have become more varied in scope and depth in both specialized and general duties making it more difficult to distinguish between the current levels. To that end, Human Resources has contracted with an outside consultant to create more distinct job descriptions and criteria to clearly distinguish between these levels. On January 7 and 8, 2002 we will be scheduling voluntary interviews with all Management Analysts and Senior Management Analysts to gather information in order to create these more defined descriptions and criteria. Ms. Maryann Ellis will interview each incumbent for approximately 45 minutes and also follow up with a brief interview with his/her immediate supervisor. A Human Resources representative will be calling you to ask if you would like to participate and schedule you for an appointment. You are not required to bring anything with you, however, if you want to bring your own job description or any additional materials to help the consultant understand your job, it would be helpful. It is not required that all Analysts participate. The goal of this project is to gather information to create new class descriptions and criteria for the Management Analyst series and not to review individual position classifications. If you are requesting a reclassification review on your job, please process your request through your department head for a separate interview process. We appreciate your participation and time in helping us create a better understanding and utilization of these jobs. We will be sharing the final criteria with all of those who have participated. To assist in completing your application, I have completed a site plan that shows the width of the building, sidewalk and all other items in the public right of way (see attached). Please note that your outdoor display must be located parallel to the storefront on the south side of the doorway next to the building as not to interfere with pedestrian safety. Placement of your outdoor display in any other place or manner would interfere with pedestrian safety and would therefore not be allowed. Please submit the following items so that we may complete the approval process for your permit: 1. Pennit Fee $33.00 2. CuiTent Original Certificate of Insurance naming the City of Carisbad and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency as additional insured. An ongoing requirement of the permit is that you maintain a valid certificate of insurance for the items within the public right-of-way naming the City of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency as additional insured. Since we have sent you several letters requesting the insurance certification and you have not provided it, we are cancelling your permit to have your outdoor display. If you currently have your display outside of your business, please remove it immediately. If you would like to reapply for another outdoor display, please call Austin Silva at 760-434-2813.
