As a result, the Housing & Redevelopment Department has issued a permit for the A-Frame sign. Attached is a copy of the approved permit for your records. The attached permit allows you to retain your sign for; 1) as long as the Housing and Redevelopment Commission allows A-Frame signs to remain, 2) as long as the sign continues to meet the standards outlined within the Carlsbad Village Master Plan and Design Manual, and 3) as long as the sign is consistent with this permit approval. It is important to note that the Housing and Redevelopment Commission will complete an annual review of the sidewalk sign regulations to determine their continued applicability. A Certificate of Insurance is not required because your sign is placed on private property. If you should have any questions regarding the information contained in this letter, please call me at (760) 434-2813. Sincerely, CITY RLSBAD LORI H. A copy of your letter is attached. When your agency participated in the redesign of our building, I believe we were told that a separate permit was not required for the "A" frame sign since it was positioned on our property. The actual design of the sign was approved along with the building murals. Sincerely, William S. Ostrie President cc: Lori Rosenstein Citv of Carlsbad Housing & Redevelopment Department March 4,2002 Art & Antique Mall 2752 State St Carlsbad, CA 92008 Dear Sir or Madam: Ilie Garlsbad Housing & Redevelopment Department has begun a comprehensive code enforcement effort to ensure that all A-Frame Signs and Outdoor Displays within the Village area comply with all applicable regulations and have obtained all required permits. Recently, staff walked the Village Redevelopment Project Area to identify the location of A-Frame Signs and/or Outdoor Displays. It was noted that an a-frame sign was present in front of your business. According to our records no permit has been issued for an a- frame sign at your location. Therefore, you must remove the a-frame sign immediately. If the item is displayed in the public right-of-way before a permit has been obtained. City Code Enforcement Officers may confiscate it at any time without prior notice. To obtain a permit for the a-frame sign, you must submit an application along with the appropriate application fee to Redevelopment staff at 2965 Roosevelt Street Suite B, Carlsbad, CA 92008. Please come by the Carlsbad Redevelopment Office at 2965 Roosevelt Street to pick up a permit application or call 434-2812 for an application to be mailed to you. Again, as noted above, you must remove the a-frame sign until you obtain the required permit. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. If you need further information or need assistance, please give me a call at (760) 434-2812. Sincerely Linda Holmes Administrative Assistant :LH 2965 Roosevelt St., Ste. B • Carlsbad.
