Dear Mr. Babazadeghan:
Thank you for submitting information relating to the approval of your signs. We have
reviewed the information and researched the issue. Apparently, prior to 1999 some A-
Frame Signs were approved with other signage in the Sign Permit process and a separate
file for the A-Frame Sign was not set up. We apologize for the confusion and appreciate
your providing documentation.
This letter will confirm that a Permit RP 02-17 has been issued for an A-Frame Sign to be
located on the sidewalk in front of your business. As a condition of the permit, you must
submit a certificate of insurance to the City of Carlsbad on an annual basis showing that
both the City of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency are named as
additional insured. Failure to provide proof of this coverage will cause the immediate
annulment of the permit and subject the sign to confiscation by City Code Enforcement
Officers.

Dear Sir or Madam:
The Carlsbad Housing & Redevelopment Department has begun a comprehensive code
enforcement effort to ensure that dl A-Frame Signs and Outdoor Displays within the
Village area comply with all applicable regulations and have obtained all required
permits.
Recentiy, staff walked the Village Redevelopment Project Area to identify the location of
A-Frame Signs and/or Outdoor Displays. It was noted that an a-frame sign was present
in front of your business. According to our records no permit has been issued for an a-
frame sign at your location. Therefore, you must remove the a-frame sign immediately.
If the items have not been removed from the public right-of-wav within 10 business
davs of the date of this letter or a permit has not been obtained thev mav be
summarilv removed without further notice from the Citv and disposed of as surplus
propertv.
To obtain a permit for the a-frame sign, you must submit an application along with the
appropriate application fee to Redevelopment staff at 2965 Roosevelt Street Suite B,
Carlsbad, CA 92008. Please come by the Carlsbad Redevelopment Office at 2965
Roosevelt Street to pick up a permit application or call 434-2812 for an application to be
mailed to you. Again, as noted above, you must remove the a-frame sign until you obtain
the required permit.
