Date of Notice: August 30, 2002 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Housing and Redevelopment Director of the City of Carlsbad has made a final decision to APPROVE an Administrative Redevelopment Permit (RP 02-27) for the expansion of an existing outdoor dining area on the east side of Polios Maria Restaurant located at 3055 Harding Street, which is located on west side of Harding Street between Carlsbad Village Drive and Oak Avenue. The assessor parcel number is 203-352-13. The Housing and Redevelopment Director has determined that the proposed project meets all applicable development standards for outdoor cafes and is consistent with the Village Master Plan and Design Manual. Therefore, the Director intends to approve the subject permit. The applicant for the redevelopment permit is Marie Davies (restaurant owner). The permit will allow for a total of 10 tables and 20 chairs within a fenced in area on private property. No portion of the outdoor dining area will extend onto the public sidewalk. The proposed expansion will extend into the area of the existing driveway. The permit will also permit the removal of the existing driveway apron and the installation of curb, gutter, and sidewalk improvements. Vehicular ingress and egress will be limited to alley access only. All vehicular access from Harding Street will be eliminated. If you wish to appeal the decision of the Housing and Redevelopment Director on this matter to the Design Review Board, you must file a written appeal with the Housing and Redevelopment Department within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this decision/notice. The written appeal must be submitted no later than 5:00pm on September 9, 2002. Appeal forms are available at the Housing and Redevelopment Department located at 2965 Roosevelt Street, Suite B.
