To date our office has not received a response; therefore, our office is withdrawing your Sidewalk Sign Permit Application. One of the sidewalk sign requirements is that all existing building signage for a business must conform to the sign standards set forth within the Village Master Plan and Design Manual before a permit will be approved for the sidewalk sign. Therefore, your Sidewalk Sign Permit Application cannot be approved unless the existing signage on the building is brought into conformance. If you plan to bring your existing signage into conformance and request to move forward with the proposed RP 04-06 Sidewalk Sign Permit Application, please notify me within 10 days from the date of this letter. Othenrt/ise, our office will consider a no reply to this letter as an agreement from you in withdrawing the RP 04-06 Sidewalk Sign Permit Application. In requesting a sidewalk sign in the future, you will be required to reapply for a Sidewalk Sign Permit. If you have any questions regarding the information contained in this letter, please contact me at 760-434-2813. Sincerely, Rebeca Vazquez Planning Technician 2965 Roosevelt St., Ste. In order to approve the sign permit some additional information is needed. First, you must acquire a sign permit for the signage on the building. Signage needs to meet the sign regulations set forth in the Village Master Plan and Design Manual. The Sidewalk Sign Permit will not be approved if you decide to keep your existing signage. Signage must comply with the following standards: Signage on your building is a roof sign. Roof signs are not permitted. A list of permitted sign is enclosed. • General signage is one square foot of signage per linear foot of building frontage. I have enclosed a sign permit application for your use. My office must approve the sign permit before submitting it to the City of Carlsbad Planning Department. Once the sign permit has been filed and approved, the sidewalk sign application will then be fon^/arded to the Housing and Redevelopment Director for final approval. A copy of the approved permit will be forwarded to you. Secondly, in order to complete the application for the sidewalk sign the proper Certificate of Insurance must be on record. The Certificate of Insurance that you submitted with your application shows the proper amount of insurance coverage, however, it fails to show the City of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency as additional insured. Please contact your insurance carrier and have them make the necessary change and forward a copy of the certificate to my office. Once these items are received the sidewalk sign permit will be approved. A copy of the approved permit will be fon/varded to you for your records. If you have any questions regarding the information contained in this letter, please contact me at 760-434-2813. Sincerely, Rebeca Vazquez Planning Technician Enclosures 2965 Roosevelt St., Ste.
