Having received all required documents your application has been approved. Enclosed is a copy of the approved Sidewalk Sign Permit for your records. The attached permit allows you to retain your sign for; 1) as long as the Housing and Redevelopment Commission allows sidewalk signs to remain, 2) as long as the sign continues to meet the standards outlined within the Carlsbad Village Master Plan and Design Manual, and 3) as long as the sign is consistent with this permit approval. It is important to note that the Housing and Redevelopment Commission will complete an annual review of the sidewalk sign regulations to determine their continued applicability. A valid Certificate of Insurance is required for the duration of time the A-Frame sign continues to be placed within the public right-of-way. In addition, the sign shall be displayed during business hours only. Signs shall not remain on the sidewalk during non- business hours. Most importantly, the sign must be placed as shown on the approved site plan. SIGN PERMIT A requirement for approving your sidewalk sign permit is that an approved sign permit is required for your building signage. The sign permit that you submitted for your building signage has been approved by our office. A copy of the approved sign permit is also enclosed. The following additional steps are required for final processing of your sign permit: 1. First, please present the approved sign permit to Carlsbad Planning Department's counter for application processing. 2. Second, after the Planning Dept. has completed the application processing, please present the approved sign permit to the Carlsbad Building Department's counter to determine if a building permit is required. The final processing steps of your sign permit may be processed over the counter with both departments located at 1635 Faraday Avenue, Carlsbad.
