The project was approved by City Council on May 10, 2011 and had a timeframe of 36 months before the project approvals would expire (May 10, 2014). On July 11, 2013 the Governor approved California Assembly Bill 116, which extended the expiration date for two years of any approved tentative map that was approved on or after January 1, 2000. Consequently, the new expiration date for the approved tentative tract map is May 10, 2016. Furthermore, any discretionary approvals related to an automatic map extension receive automatic extensions for the same time period in the City of Carlsbad, resulting in the Major Review Permit (RP 05- lOA) and the Coastal Development Permit (CDP 05-42A) having an expiration date of May 10, 2016 as well.
