Re: Department of Fish and Game Environmental Filing Fees
Lead agencies must resume collecting the environmental filing fees
effective February 1996. This collection must be made pursuant to
Fish and Game Code 711.4 and California Code of Regulations, Title
14, Section 753.5.
Fish and Game Code 711.4:
For a project for which a Negative Declaration is prepared pursuant to
subdivision (c) of Section 21080 ofthe Public Resources Code, the filing fee is
one thousand eight hundred dollars ($1,800). The filing fee shall be paid to the
County Clerk at the time of filing.
For a project with an Environmental Impact Report prepared pursuant to the
California Environmental Quality Act, the filing fee is two thousand five hundred
dollars ($2,500). The filing fee shall be paid to the County Clerk at the time of
filing.
The County Clerk may charge a documentary handling fee of fifty dollars ($50)
per filing in addition to the filing fee specified in subdivision (d).
The enclosed Notice of Determination and/or Notice of Exemption is
being returned to you and will not be filed until the fee required under
Fish and Game Code Section 711.4 is paid* Without the appropriate
fee or a fee exemption, issued by DFG, the project is not operative,
vested or final and any local permits issued for the project will be
invalid (Section 711.4(c)(3) ofthe Fish and Game Code.

of Carlsbad will hold a special Public Hearing in the City Council Chambers, 1200
Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad, Caljfornia, at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 7,2006,
to consider an appeal of the Design Review Board decision to uphold the Housing &
Redevelopment Director's decision denying an Administrative Redevelopment Permit (RP
06-08) to convert an existing retail space to an office use at 2898 State Street (APN: 203-
291-03) in Land Use District 1 ofthe Carlsbad Village Redevelopment Area.

CHANGE IN USE FROM RETAIL TO OFFICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Housing and Redevelopment Director of the City of Carlsbad
intends to DENY an Administrative Redevelopment Permit (RP 06-08) to convert existing retail space
to a real estate office on private property at 2898 State Street, which is located on the northeast
corner of State Street and Grand Avenue. The assessor parcel number is 203-291-03. The Housing
and Redevelopment Director has determined that the proposed land use, office is not permitted at
the proposed location as it has been determined to break up the retail continuity along both State
Street and Grand Avenue. Therefore, the Director intends to deny the subject permit.
Those persons wishing to comment on the proposed project and intended action by the Housing and
Redevelopment Director are cordially invited to submit written comments or contact the Housing and
Redevelopment Department by 5:00pm on July 3, 2006. If you have comments on the proposed
