Dear Laura,
We are formally responding to your letter of April 22, 2008 to Village Faire Shopping
Center Tenants regarding signage. As an all-volunteer organization, there is much
turnover on our Board of Directors over time. The current Board was surprised and
frankly embarrassed to find out that we did not have a sign permit with the city.
After familiarizing ourselves with the sign code, we determined that our wall sign over
the door of our suite is within code but the hanging sign on a beam to right of our suite is
not. Accordingly, we are submitting the attached sign permit application for only the
wall sign over the door along with the permit fee of $55.00.
At our Board meeting on May 5^*^, the Board appointed a committee to have a new sign
designed, for Board and landlord approval, to replace the hanging sign. We will proceed
a quickly as possible. The next Board meeting is June 2"^* at which time we expect to
approve the design and cost of a new sign. We will then submit a new sign permit
application. In the meantime, we hope that you will permit us to leave the current
hanging sign in place until our new sign is installed.
Our Director of Gallery Operations, Bob Mussay, is in charge of our gallery and
committee to procure a new sign. You may reach him at 760-730-9274 if you have any
questions. We want to thank you for your help as we proceed to correct our signage
problems as soon as possible.
