Re: Temporary Banner Sign and Sign Permit Application
Dear Mr. Owen:
It has recently been brought to our attention that your business has a non-
permitted temporary banner sign advertising a grand opening displayed outside
your business facing Carlsbad Village Drive. The Village Redevelopment Area
does not permit the display of temporary banner signs. Please remove this sign
within ten (10) days from the referenced date ofthis letter.
The sign permit application for VL Beauty Center is still incomplete, as discussed
in the letter sent by our office on November 3, 2008. Please take steps to bring
your sign into compliance with the Village Redevelopment Sign Guidelines within
ten (10) days from the referenced date of this letter. Please refer to the previous
letter for specifics regarding your sign permit application. We appreciate your
cooperation in this matter.

Re: Sign Permit Application
Dear Mr. Owen:
In reviewing the sign permit application for VL Beauty Center, staff has found that
the proposed wall sign does not meet the current Village Sign Guidelines of
allowing one (1) square foot of signage for each lineal foot of building street
frontage. This means that because your business has sixteen (16) feet of
building street frontage, you are allowed a maximum of sixteen (16) square feet
of signage. The sign proposed in the sign permit application for VL Beauty
Center exceeds this limit by two feet. In order to have your sign permit
application approved, it must be shown that the wall sign will not be any larger
than sixteen (16) square feet. Please make the required sign changes and
resubmit the information to our office for review as soon as possible. We
appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
