The application has since been denied and the money order cannot be returned as it is already made out to the City of Carlsbad. I have also enclosed a Money Order in the amount of $56.00. I am requesting to place an A-Frame Sign on the sidewalk directly in front of the entrance to Ocean House located at 2978 Carlsbad Boulevard. At that point, the public sidewalk is 11 feet 6 inches across. The curb dividing the sidewalk with the private property line is receded at that point, laying flush with the private easement allowing for handicap access and is 16 feet 4 inches in across. The sign will only take up 3' 10"x 2'2" of space. In addition, as per your request, I am submitting signed letters from the tenants of the building, advising your office that they will not be seeking any request for a permit to display any A-Frame Sign. The letters come from the SIMA Management Corporation, Carlsbad Restaurants Inc., Luminate Financial Services, and Business Marketing Consultants. Carlsbad Walking History Tours has received much support and anticipation from the local village business community. As we have discussed, the A-Frame Sign is a critical component to drawing tourists into Ocean House for the tours. I understand that the sign will only be displayed on Saturdays and Sundays (days of operation). However, I do ask for permission to have the sign displayed on the sidewalk, Monday through Friday, one time onlv. five days in advance of the first weekend of business. This is for some pre-grand opening advertising. It has been a pleasure working with your office so far. Thank you for your assistance in answering many questions as this process has moved along. Please call me if there is anything more that I need to submit. I look forward to working with you in the future. As I am trying to start tours as soon as possible, can you please let me know as soon as possible when the permit is issued? Thank you.
