General security for employees and patrons. Plan review recommendations Lighting- Aisles, passageways, and recesses related to and within the building complex shall be illuminated with an intensity of at least twenty-five one hundredths (.25) footcandles at the ground level during the hours of darkness. Lighting devices shall be protected by weather and vandalism-resistant covers. Open parking lots and carports shall be provided with a maintained minimum of one (1) footcandle of light on the parking surface during the hours of darkness. Landscaping- The exterior landscaping should be kept at a minimal height and fullness giving police, security services and the general public surveillance capabilities of the area. Business Considerations- Doors- Wood doors shall be of solid core construction with a minimum thickness of one and three fourths inches. Glass doors shall have fully tempered glass or rated burglary resistant glazing. All swinging exterior wood and steel doors shall be equipped with a dead bolt. Dead-bolts shall have a minimum protection of one inch and be constructed so as to repel cutting tool attacks. The dead-bolt shall have an embedment of at least three-fourths inch into the strike plate area. Strike Plate and dead-bolt are to be installed with wood screws that are three Inches in length. Panic hardware shall be installed whenever it is required by the Uniform Building Oode. All roof openings shall be secured. A Crime Prevention measure which should be used throughout the entire project would be the installation of high quality burglar resistant hardware on doors and windows. The doors and windows should also be of sufficient strength to resist break-ins. Hinges for out-swinging doors shall be equipped with non-removable hinge pins or a mechanical interlock to preclude removal of the door from the exterior by removing the hinge pins. Misc.-Security hardware should be used to deter access to any rear storage equipment areas. By, Jodeene R. If the owner fails to enter into said agreement this prqijCCt will not be consistent with the General Plan and approval for this project shall be void." The following data is offered to aid in the staff report preparation: A. The project will generate 19 ADT of traffic, 9 over the present 10 ADT for use as a single family dwelling. B. The existing circulation system is adequate to handle the increase. C. All needed public improvements are existing. D. The sewer use increases marginally (from 1 EDU to 1.6 EDU) and the existing system is adequate to handle the increase. E. The water use will increase marginally from 220 to 352 GPD and this increase will be adequately handled by the existing system. F. No grading is proposed. E. No increase in storm water run-off will occur. F. All structures needed for the proposed use are existing. G. There are no conflicts with easements or other land title interests.
