PROJECT NAME: Towneplace Suites - Carlsbad
APPLICANT NAME: Carlsbad Village Suites. LLC c/o Shapery Enterprises
Please describe fully the proposed project. Inciude any details necessary to adequately
explain the scope and/or operation of the proposed project. You may also include any
background information and supporting statements regarding the reasons for. or
appropriateness of, the appiication. Use an addendum sheet if necessary.
Description/Explanation.
TownePlace Suites is a new extended stay hotel concept created by
the Marriott Corporation. Marriott will manage the project once
construction is completed. The project consists of 106 hotel
.suites, each containing a full kitchen facility. There will be
69 studio units, 4 one bedroom suites, and 33 two bedroom suites.
The project will include a swimming pool.
The hotel suites will be contained in two 3-story buildings with
the required 128 parking spaces including 7 handicapped parking
stalls.
The zoning and particular use for the site was approved by
Carlsbad City Ordinance #'s 9313 and 9314.
