Dear Sir or Madam:
Our records indicate that you were issued Permit #97-09 for an A-Frame Sign that is
located in the public right-of-way. A requirement of the permit is that the City of
Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency be listed as Additional Insured on
your insurance policy. The most recent certificate of insurance on file expires or expired
on (no certificate on file). If the certificate of insurance on file has not yet expired,
please ask your insurance provider to ensure that a new certificate is sent to us upon
renewal. If there is no certificate of insurance on file or if it has expired, please submit a
current certificate of insurance within ten davs (10). If a current certificate of insurance
is not received by the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency, your permit may be revoked
and/or the A-Frame Sign may be confiscated by Code Enforcement.

Subject: Approval of Sidewalk Sign Permit
Dear Ms. Gosman:
Thank you for submitting your application for a Sidewalk Sign Permit. Your application
has been approved. Attached is a copy of the approved Sidewalk Sign Permit for your
records.
The attached permit allows you to retain your sign for, 1) as long as the Housing and
Redevelopment Commission allows sidewalk signs to remain, 2) as long as the sign
continues to meet the standards outlined within the Carlsbad Village Master Plan and
Design Manual, and 3) as long as the sign is consistent with this permit approval. It is
important to note that the Housing and Redevelopment Commission will complete an
annual review of the sidewalk sign regulations to determine their continued applicability.

Subject: Application for Sidewalk Sign Permit
Dear Ms. Gosman:
Thank you for submitting your application for a Sidewalk Sign Permit. Staff has
reviewed your application and the following information needs to be submitted to the
Redevelopment Agency in order for staff to complete its review:

1. Please provide a site plan indicating the location and dimension of the sign,
the dimensions of the sidewalk and the location and dimensions of the
business.
2. If the sign is located on the sidewalk, please provide a Certificate of Insurance
naming the "City of Carlsbad" ^id the "Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency" as
additionally insured in the amount of $1 million.
3. Item No. 5 of the application requires information regarding the existing signs
for you building/business. This would include all signs, with the exception of
the A-Frame sign, that currently exist for your business. Your application has
been enclosed for you to provide the necessary information.
Once the above information has been submitted, staff will complete its review of your
