RE: Current Insurance Certificate for an A-Frame Sign
Dear Mr. Ruane:
Our records indicate that you were issued Permit #97-10 for an A-Frame Sign that is
located within the public right-of-way. An ongoing requirement of the pemiit is that you
maintain a valid certificate of insurance for the items within the public right-of-way
naming the City of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency as additional
insured.
The certificate of insurance on file expires on June 16, 2002. Therefore, the A-Frame
Sign must be removed from the public right-of-way once the certificate of insurance
expires. If proof of current insurance coverage has not been received or if the items have
not been removed from the public right-of-wav within 10 business davs of the date ofthe
certificate of insurance expiration, the items mav be summarilv removed without further
notice from the Citv and disposed of as surplus propertv.

Dear Sir or Madam:
Our records indicate that you were issued Permit #97-10 for an A-Frame Sign that is
located in the public right-of-way. A requirement of the permit is that the City of
Carlsbad and die Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency be listed as Additional Insured on
your insurance policy. The most recent certificate of insurance on file expires or expired
on (no certificate on file). If the certificate of insurance on file has not yet expired,
please ask your insurance provider to ensure that a new certificate is sent to us upon
renewal. If there is no certificate of insurance on file or if it has expired, please submit a
current certificate of insurance within ten davs (10). If a current certificate of insurance
is not received by the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency, your permit may be revoked
and/or the A-Frame Sign may be confiscated by Code Enforcement.

Subject: Application for Sidewalk Sign Permit
Dear Mr. Ruane:
Thank you for submitting your application for a Sidewalk Sign Pemiit. Your application
has been approved. Attached is a copy of the approved SidewaUc Sign Permit for your
records.
The attached permit allows you to retain your sign for, I) as long as the Housing and
Redevelopment Commission allows sidewalk signs to remain, 2) as long as the sign
continues to meet the standards outlined within the Carlsbad Village Master Plan and
Design Manual, and 3) as long as the sign is consistent with this permit approval. It is
important to note that the Housing and Redevelopment Commission wdll complete an
annual review of the sidewalk sign regulations to determine their continued applicability.

Subject: Application for Sidewalk Sign Permit
Dear Mr. Ruane:
Thank you for submitting your application for a Sidewalk Sign Permit. Staff has
reviewed your application and the following information needs to be submitted to the
Redevelopment Agency in order for staff to complete its review:
I. Please provide an original copy of the Certificate of Insurance naming the
"City of Carlsbad" and the "Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency" as additionally
insured in the amount of $1 million.
Once the above information has been submitted, staff can then approve your application.
