Re: Outdoor Tables and Chairs
Dear Business Owner:
It has recently been brought to our attention that the outdoor tables and chairs that
are placed outside of your restaurant do not comply with the approved
Redevelopment Permit # 98-02. Please remove the tables and chairs that are
placed in front of the adjacent business to the west on Grand Avenue. Your permit
only allows the tables and chairs to be placed in front of your restaurant. In addition,
the outdoor tables and chairs do not comply with the location and development
criteria for sidewalk cafes. Most notably, the tables and chairs do not comply with the
following critena:
• Per condition number six (6), you are allowed to place a maximum of 8 tables
and 18 chairs outside of your restaurant along Roosevelt Street and Grand
Avenue
• A clear area of at least five feet In width must be maintained for pedestnan
use over the entire length of the sidewalk in front of the business.
As a courtesy to you, I am sending you this letter before this becomes a code
enforcement issue. If you have any questions regarding the information contained in
this letter, please contact my office at (760) 434-2812.
Sincerely,
Austin Silva
