Include any details necessary to adequately explain the scope and/or operation of the proposed project. You may also Include any background Information and supporting statements regarding the reasons for, or appropriateness of, the application. Use an addendum sheet If necessary. Description/Explanation: ViaSat proposes to construct site improvements on their existing Building 1/Lot 1 site to incorporate a landscaped pedestrian walkway, new driveway at El Camino Real and parking lot modifications related to the proposed Pedestrian Crosswalk at the El Camino Real / Gateway Road intersection. The improvements will consist of pedestrian hardscape/sidewalks linked to the proposed Pedestrian Crosswalk, landscaping, surface parking lot modifications and a driveway to accommodate a proposed northbound left turn lane into Lot 1. The left turn lane will afford ViaSat employees safe and direct vehicular access to the ViaSat campus from northbound El Camino Real. The parking lot modifications on Lot 1 do not reduce the overall parking space count on Lot 1. The pedestrian hardscape and landscape is designed to create a visual connection from the Building 1 main entry to the Pedestrian Crosswalk, and across El Camino Real to proposed Building 10. This project will require an amendment to SUP 98-03(C)and SDP 14-04. To view the SUSMP, refer to the Engineering Standards (Volume 4, Chapter 2) at www.carisbadca.qov/8tandards. Initially this questkmnaire must be completed by the appUcant in advance of submitting for a development applicatton (subdMston, discretionary permits and/or construction permits). The results of the questionnaire determine the level of storm water standards that must be applied to a proposed devetopment or redevelopment project. Depending on the outcome, your project will either be subjed to 'Standard Stonnwater Requirements' or be subjed to addittonal criteria called 'Priority Development Project Requirements'. Many aspects of project site design are dependent upon the storm water standards applied to a prpject. Your responses to the questtonnalre represent an Initial assessment of the proposed project oondlttons and impacts. City staff has responsibility for making the final assessment after submisston of the devetopment application, tf staff determines that the questtonnalre was incorrectly filled out and is subject to more stringent storm water standards than initially assessed by you, this will result in the retum of the development applicatton as incomplete. In this case, please make the changes to ttie questimnaire and resubmit to the City. If you are unsure atnut the meaning of a question or need help in determining how to respond to one or more of the questtons, please seek assistance from Land Devetopment Engineering staff. A separate completed and signed questtonnalre must be subrrMed for each new devetopment applicatton submisston. Only one completed and signed questionnaire is required when multiple development applicattons fbrthe same project are submitted concurrently.
