SUBJECT: SDU 02-25 - KING GUEST UNIT
Thank you for applying for Land Use Permits in the City of Carlsbad. The Planning Department
has reviewed your Second Dwelling Unit, application no. SDU 02-25, as to its completeness for
processing.
The application is complete, as submitted. Although the initial processing of your application
may have already begun, the technical acceptance date is acknowledged by the date of this
communication. The City may, in the course of processing the application, request that you
clarify, amplify, correct, or otherwise, supplement the basic information required for the
application. In addition, you should also be aware that various design issues may exist. These
issues must be addressed before this application can be scheduled for a hearing. The Pbnning
Department will begin processing your application as of the date of this communication.

On the site plan:
1. Show finish floor elevation and spot elevations on plans.
2. Our records indicate that the existing street centerline to Right-of-way width is 20
feet. The plan indicates 15 feet. Please clarify-this distance and revise accordingly.
Note: Total City general utility and access easement width is 40 feet.
3. Current City standards require a total of 60 feet right-of-way from property line to
property line. Since Laguna Drive is currently only 40β in width, you will need to
dedicate IOβ of frontage for future road widening.
4. Show any existing street improvements (i.e. curb, gutter or sidewalk). If there are no
improvements, and valuation of SDU exceeds $75,000, you will need to enter into a
Neighborhood Improvement Agreement for future installation of improvements. A
copy of the current Title Report and processing fee of $31 0.00 will be required.
5. Show existing and/or proposed sewer lateral and water service line with meter.
6. Show location and width of existing driveway approach. Also, new proposed
driveway approach for the second dwelling unit must be a minimum of 12β in width
within the City Right-of-way
