Dear Sirs:
After reviewing the plans for the addition of a "Grannie Flat" at 3843 Highland Ave., I must say
that I am opposed to the location and probable intent.
Location: By being on the very back of the property and with the existing topography, this house
will look directly down into the back yards of Polly Lane residents. Nod expectations of
solitude and privacy in our backyards will be lost. Ultimately this will reduce the value of our
houses.
Probable Intent: If this is really a "Grannie Flat" then it should be attached to or very close to the
main house. Wit is really intended to become a rental unit (probably so) then the owner should
have to do the appropriate zoning and splitting of the lot. At that point the pros and cons of a
zoning change can be argued on their own merits. The way it is proposed now will ultimately
yield a rental in our backyards.
