DescriptionExpianation. THE PROPOSED PROJECT IS TO BUILD A SECOND UNIT DWELLING
CONSISTING OF 639.65 SQ.FT. AND WILL BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE EXISTING DWELLING
LOCATED AT THE SAME ADDRESS. THE SECOND DWELLING UNIT WILL MEET THE LOW INCOME
HOUSING RATE AND WILL HELP MEET THE NEEDS OF LOW INCOME HOUSING NEEDED. THE
PROPERTY WILL ALSO HAVE MORE THAN EFFICIENT PARKING OFF STREET. THIS PROJECT
WILL CONFORM WITH ALL BUILDING CODES AND STANDARDS SET BY THE ADOPTED ORDINANCE

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SECOND DWELLING UNIT ADMINISTRATIVE PERMIT
An administrative permit (a permit which is reviewed and approved by the Planning Director) is required
for the development of a second dwelling unit within the City of Carlsbad.
The following materials are -required to be submitted with the administrative permit application:
1. Four (4) copies of a site plan prepared on a 24" x 36" sheet(s) folded to 8 1/2" x 11". The site
plan shall include the following information:
Name and address of owner, engineer and/or architect, etc.
Location, size and use of all easements.
Location and dimension of vehicular access and all offstreet parking.
Lot dimensions and location (building footprint) of the primary and secondary dwelling
unit.
Distance between buildings and/or structures.
Building setbacks (front, rear and sides).
Dimensions of rearyard recreational area (for lots smaller than 7,500 square feet).
Location, height, and materials of walls and fences.
Location of water and sewer lines. ou s;k
