PROJECT NAME: Village J and Q-1 Second Units
APPLICANT NAME: UDC
This application is for a Second Dwelling Unit Administrative Permit for second units in Village J
and Q-1 of Rancho Canillo. Nine second units are proposed; 6 in Village J and 3 in Village Q-1.
As shown on the enclosed Site Plan, the units are proposed for lots 6,23,28,43,53, & 61 of
Village J (CT 93-01) and on lots 44,72, & 77 of Village Q (CT 93-04). All lots in both Village J
and Village Q-1 are larger than 7500 square feet. The Floor Plans and Elevations that
accompanies this application shows the design of the unit.
The rental price of each second unit shall not exceed the rate as established by the City of
Carlsbad for a 80% low income household. Currently, as shown on the Rental Rate Calculations
Chart accompanying this application, for a family of two, the maximum rental rate is $797.00.

as an existing owner-occupied single family detached dwelling unit and is:
a. Suitable for use as a complete living facility with provisions within the faciiin. for cooking,
eating, sanitation and sleeping;
b. Occupied by one or more persons: and
C. Subordinate to the main dwelling unit.
2. The Propem Owncr(s) listed above hereby ccnifies that heishe owns the above referenced propem,
as of the date of this affidavit, and to hidher belief and knowledge. there are no conditions,
covenants or restriaions on the propem. prohibiting a second dwelling unit apartment.

c. The Second Dwelling Unit may only be rented and shall not be sold scpararely fiom the main

shall not exceed an amount equal to 30% of the gross monthiy income of a low-income
