PROJECT DESCRTPTION/EXPLANATION
PROJECT NAME: Village J and Q-1 Second Units
APPLICANT NAME: UDC
This application is for a Second Dwelling Unit Administrative Pennit for second units in Village J
and Q-1 of Rancho Carrillo. Nine second units are proposed; 6 in Village J and 3 in Village Q-1.
As shown on the enclosed Site Plan, the units are proposed for lots 6,23,28,43,53, & 61 of
Village J (CT 93-01) and on lots 44,72, & 77 of Village Q (CT 93-04). All lots in both Village J
and Village Q-1 are larger than 7500 square feet. The Floor Plans and Elevations that
accompanies this application shows the design of the unit.
The rental price of each second unit shall not exceed the rate as established by the City of
Carlsbad for a 80% low income household. Currently, as shown on the Rental Rate Calculations
Chart accompanying this application, for a family of two, the maximum rental rate is $797.00.

FOR A SECOND DWELLING UNIT

dwelling unit, unicss the lot on which such units arc located is subdivided.
d. The Property Owner(s) agree to rent the Second Dwelling Unit at a monthly rental rate which
shall not excud an amount equal to 30% Of the gross monthly income of a low-income
household, adjusted for househoid size, at 800/0 of the San Dicgo County median income.
e. A copy of this agreement and Afidavit must be given by the Property Owner(s) to prospective
purchasers of the property prior to entering into a sales contract for said propem.
