This application is for Eight Second Dwelling Unit Administrative Permits for Village K of Rancho Carrillo. SDP 98-12 mandates that eight second units be developed in Village K as a part of the inclusionary requirement for Rancho Canillo. SDP 98-12 shows the exact lots in which the second units are to be located, but allows for up to 50% of the second units to be relocated to different lots within the same Village (see Condition #12 of PC Reso. 4397). As shown on the enclosed Site Plan, the units are proposed for lots 68,71,84,90,93,96,102, & 144 of Village K (CT 97-03). Lots 93,96,102, & 84 are lots designated for second units by SDP 98-12. The remaining units have been plotted on lots 68,71,90, & 144 in conformance with Condition #12 of SDP 98-12. The Floor Plans and Elevations that accompany this application show the design of the units. The rental price of each second unit shall not exceed the rate as established by the City of Carlsbad for a 80% low income household. Currently, as shown on the rental rate calculations table accompanying this application, for a family of two, the maximum rental rate is $824.00.
