. SUBJECT: SDU 99-42 Ward Residence Second Dwelling Unit
Thank you for applying for Land Use Permits in the City of Carlsbad. The Planning
Department has reviewed your Second Dwelling Unit Permit, application no. SDU 99-42,
as to its completeness for processing.
The application is complete, as submitted. Although the initial processing of your
application may have already begun, the technical acceptance date is acknowledged by
the date of this communication. The City may, in the course of processing the
application, request that you clarify, amplify, correct, or otherwise, supplement the basic
information required for the application. In addition, you should also be aware that various
design issues may exist. These issues must be addressed before this application can be
scheduled for a hearing. The Planning Department will begin processing your application
as of the date of this communication.

would not be supported for this project, therefore, please show a minimum 8'-6' side
yard.
2. Please delineate parking area for second dwelling unit on site plan. One space is
required for the second dwelling unit and may be provided in the driveway.

Please show drainage pattern on site plan. Add the following note on site plan:
"Finish grade will provide a minimum positive drainage of 2% to swale 5' away
from building. 'I
Please show existing and proposed slopes.
Inadequate information available on site plan to make a determination on grading
requirements. Please include accurate grading quantities, (cut, fill, import, and
export.)
Please show slope percentage of driveway. Fourteen percent (14%) is the
maximum.
Please show existing topography and proposed finished grade.
