Re: Proposed Condominium Project
• Park Street and Marina Drive
Carlsbad, California
Gentlemen:
We have reviewed the preliminary plans for the subject project that were submitted
to our office on February 11, 1975. We have evaluated the proposed development
on the basis to the subsurface soil conditions on the parcel of land adjacent to
the west side of the subject site, as disclosed by our investigation conducted on
that parcel from March 25 to April 16, 1971, a copy of which is attached hereto
for your review. This evaluation shows the following:
1. The proposed development is. feasible from the standpoint of soils
engineering.
2. Assuming that subsurface soil conditions are similar to those on the
adjacent property, foundation systems composed of driven piles and grade
beams will be required for the structures.
3. The proposed recreation building may be supported by driven piles
and grade beams, or possibly by a post-tensioned slab foundation,
depending on the prevailing soil conditions.
It is recommended that a detailed subsurface soils investigation be conducted on
the subject site to ascertain the soil conditions and provide the necessary data
for specific foundation recommendations, with the investigation to be performed
at such time as development plans are more specifically formulated.
We trust this information will be of some value to you and should the project be
developed, we look forward to working with you.
Yours truly,
