An ongoing requirement of the permit is that you maintain a valid certificate of insurance for the items within the public right-of-way naming the City of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency as additional insured. The certificate of insurance on file expires on June 16, 2002. Therefore, the A-Frame sign must be removed from the public right-of-way once the certificate of insurance expires. If proof of current insurance coverage has not been received or if the items have not been removed from the public right-of-wav within 10 business davs of the date of the certificate of insurance expiration, the items mav be summarilv removed without further notice from the City and disposed of as surplus propertv. A requirement of the permit is that the City of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency be listed as Additional Insured on your insurance policy. The most recent certificate of insurance on file expires or expired on (no certificate on file). If the certificate of insurance on file has not yet expired, please ask your insurance provider to ensure that a new certificate is sent to us upon renewal. If there is no certificate of insurance on file or if it has expired, please submit a current certificate of insurance within ten davs (10). If a current certificate of insurance is not received by the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency, your permit may be revoked and/or the A-Frame Sign may be confiscated by Code Enforcement. The sign was to be a maximum of 5 feet in height and 3 feet in width. It has recently come to the City's attention that you are displaying two signs, both of which exceed 5 feet in height. The Carlsbad Master Plan allow each business to display a maximum of one sign per business. By displaying signs which are in violation of the Master Plan and your approved permit, the signs are subject to immediate removal by the City vdthout further notice. It is recommended that you remove the signs until either one can be brought into conformance with the approved permit. Your application has been approved. Attached is a copy of the approved Sidewalk Sign Permit for your records. The attached permit allows you to retain your sign for, 1) as long as the Housing and Redevelopment Commission allows sidewalk signs to remain, 2) as long as the sign continues to meet the standards outlined within the Carlsbad Village Master Plan and Design Manual, and 3) as long as the sign is consistent with this permit approval. It is important to note that the Housing and Redevelopment Commission will complete an annual review of the sidewalk sign regulations to determine their continued applicability.
