Subject: Carlsbad Tract 82-25/V-344 -- Ukegawa Costa Real Municipal Water District
Mr. Chairman and Members of the Planning Commission:
The subject tentative subdivision, comprising eight lots located
at the southeast corner of Palomar Airport Road and Laurel Tree
Lane, is located within the retail water service area of the Costa
Real Municipal Water District as set forth in Resolution No, 256, Additionally, under the terms of an "interim agreement" between
the City of Carlsbad and the Water District, retail water service will continue to be provided by the District in keeping with our
responsibilities that we have been exercising since the original construction of pipeline facilities in 1960.
The Costa Real Municipal Water District will be able to provide public water service to the proposed development utilizing exist-
ing facilities in the area as well as with the construction of new
pipeline facilities that will be a part of the requirement for the
development of this new subdivision. There is an adopted master plan for public water service for the entire area and the develop-
ment will be responsible to construct all of the necessary facilities in conformance with the adopted master plan.
The Water District has a detailed set of standards and regulations for public water service that will be the responsibility of the
developer to properly adhere to and in addition, all of the responsi- bilities of the property for the expenses of the Water District as
well as the cost for services, meters, and all public water system
facilities will be the financial obligation of the development.
