This purpose of this memorandum is to provide information related to the attached letter from
North County Transit District (NCTD).
Next Steps
City Council will receive a copy of the comment letter from the city, due to NCTD by Feb. 4,
2019.

Re: Planned Bus Stop Eliminations in Carlsbad
Dear Mr. Chadwick:
North County Transit District (NCTD) is proposing to eliminate under-utilized and or
consolidate bus stops to support increased operating efficiency and plans to improve the
quality of bus stops. Attached is the list and location of twelve ( 12) bus stops proposed for
elimination in the City of Carlsbad. These stops are not ADA-compliant, have low ridership,
and are near an adjacent stop.
NCTD plans to eliminate the bus stops concurrent with the BREEZE bus service change
on April 7, 2018. NCTD will provide notice to customers via a sign at the stop, a banner
on the GoNCTD.com website, and a press release more than thirty (30) days in advance
of removal. NCTD contractors will remove the stop sign and any NCTD-owned furniture
by April 21, 2018. NCTD is requesting that the City of Carlsbad provide comments
regarding the proposed elimination of the specified 12 bus stops by February 4, 2019.
