Program (ATGP) -Carlsbad Boulevard and Tamarack Avenue Capital
Improvement Program (CIP), Project No. 6058
The purpose of this Memorandum is to provide an update on an active transportation grant for
the Carlsbad Boulevard and Tamarack Avenue CIP, Project No. 6058 (Project).
Background
As part of the work on this Project, the citywas awarded and is utilizing a $1,054,000 grant
from the SAN DAG ATGP. To enable the city to fully utilize the grant, staff is in the process of
requesting a three-year extension to the term of the grant.
Discussion
Staff has submitted the necessary information to SAN DAG, and the request will be on the Feb.
13, 2019 agenda of the SAN DAG Independent Taxpayer Oversight Committee (ITOC). Our Staff's
understanding is that it will be on the consent section of the ITOC agenda. After the ITOC
meeting, the request will be placed on the March 1, 2019, agenda of the SAN DAG
Transportation Committee for approval.
Next steps
Staff is planning to attend the ITOC meeting on .Feb. 13, 2019, to demonstrate the city's
commitment to the Project and the desire to fully implement the grant. Staff will also be ready
to attend the Transportation Committee Meeting on March 1, 2019, as needed.
