Re: Capital Improvement Program Modifications
We are coming up on the final hearing on the FY 2019-20 Operating Budget and Capital
Improvement Program. Our approach to the budget process this year was consistent with the
idea of continuous improvement. We made positive adjustments, including a more robust
public prioritization process, published responses to City Council budget questions and a budget
· book that is more accessible and understandable for the public, with an end result being
increased transparency.
To continue this momentum, I would ask for your help with the next public hearing on the
budget, scheduled for June 18. If you have suggested modifications to the FY 2019-20 budget,
based upon what you have considered to date, please send them to me by the close of business
on Tuesday, June 11, so that we can include them in the final agenda packet. This will also allow
staff some time to prepare any relevant information that could aid in the discussion,
particularly as it relates to any potential budgetary impacts.
