Due to the recent announcement of Council Member Hamilton's resignation, numerous
questions have been raised. As such, we will not be docketing a discussion on this matter on
September 24. Rather, the City Attorney's office wiil prepare a written public memorandum to
advise the Council on its options. The go~I of this memorandum is to provide timely,
comprehensive and accurate advice. Should any Council Member desire to have a question
responded to, please provide your written request to the City Attorney by no later than Friday,
September 20.
Once the City Attorney's office completes its draft memorandum, the draft memorandum will be
reviewed by a third party expert specializing in elections law to ensure accuracy. Until such time
· as we receive a final memorandum, no verbal advice will be given. Thank you for your patience
on this matter.
