This memorandum serves to inform the City Council that the Library & Cultural Arts Department
will hold its annual half-day staff development session on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, in the Ruby G.
Schulman Auditorium at the Carlsbad City Library on Dove Lane. All Library & Cultural Arts
facilities will remain closed from.9 a.m. until 3 p.m. that day, to allow as many staff members as
possible to attend.
In addition to notifying the public of the affected hours through regular communication channels,
staff has coordinated volunteers to be stationed in front of all facilities during the closure to
assist members of the public and accept library materials being returned.
