This memo focuses on actions and information that are new since the last update. Emergency Operations Center • Emergency Operations Center activated to support COVID-19 mitigation and response operations and information sharing. Regional status of outbreak (All data from June 2 at 5 p.m.) California County Carlsbad Confirmed cases 115,909 7,674 77 Increase from last memo 5,870 193 1 Deaths 4,236 276 n/a Human Resources • Status of employees with possible COVID-19 exposure (no change) Cleared to return to work 44 Self-quarantined due to possible exposure 1 City Clerk’s Office • Beginning with the June 9 City Council Meeting, community members wishing to comment on an item may do so in the following manner: o Verbally – People can sign up to provide spoken comments by phone by filling out an online registration form by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting. They will receive a confirmation message with instruction about how to call into the meeting. o In writing – Community members can e-mail their comments to clerk@carlsbadca.gov. Emails received by 2 p.m. will be provided to the City Council before the start of the meeting. Other comments will be included with the meeting record. Emailed comments will not be read aloud during the meeting. CORONAVIRUS ACTIONS June 3, 2020 Page 2 Public Works • Banners for high school graduating seniors are expected to be delivered to staff today or tomorrow. Staff will install them at the Carlsbad Village Drive-Carlsbad Blvd intersection, or at Carlsbad Village Drive and State Street. • The Facilities Division has met with departments on workspace modifications. Plexiglass for customer-facing counters has been ordered for installation to begin as soon as early next week. Some open workstations will have fabric-type dividers installed, and some cubicles with lower height partitions will get 22” height extensions.
