NOTICE TO ELECTORS OP DATE AFTER
WHICH NO ARGUMENTS FOR OR AGAINST
CITY MEASURES MAY BE SUBMITTED TO
THE CITY CLERK.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election is to
be held in the City of Carlsbad on December 17,
19fejj , at which there will be submitted to the qualified
electors of said city the following city measures:
PEOPOSITI02I A - - ACQUISITIONS
Shall the City of Carlsbad issue water revenue bonds in
the principal sum of $598,000 for the acquisition by
said city of the waterworks, property, property rights
and other assets of the Carlsbad Mutual Mater Company*
Including funds for the payment of liabilities, and
financing of all engineering, inspection and legal fees,,
costs of the bans! election of the issuance of said
revenue bonds, bond reserve funds and working capital
and other costs and expenses incidental to or connected
with such acquisition and financing?
PROPOSITION B - - IMPROVEMENT:
Shall the City of Carlsbad issue water revenue bonds in.
the principal sum of $169,000 for the acquisition,
construction, and financing of extensions, enlargements
and improvements of the waterworks to be acquired by
the city and any water lines owned by the city, includ-
ing works and facilities for the storage, transmission
and distribution of watex% and the acquisition of water
rights, land, easements, rights of way and other
property necessary therefor, and including all engineer-
ing",, inspection and legal fees, costs of the issuance of
said revenue bonds, bond reser¥e funds, and other costs
and expenses incidental to or connected with such .
acquisition, construction and financing?
PROPOSITION C - CONTRACT: Shall the contract
dated August 30, 1957, between the City of Carlsbad and
the Carlsbad Mutual Mater Company, on file in the office
of the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad, be approved?
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that pursuant to Article
4, Chapter 3, Division 4 of the Elections Code of the
State of California the legislative body of said city, or
any member or members thereof authorized by such body, or
any individual voter or bona fide association of citizens,
or any combination of such voters and associations, may
file written arguments, not to exceed 300 words in length,
for or against each said city measure.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that, based upon the
time reasonably necessary to prepare and print the argu-
ments and sample ballots for said election, the City
Clerk has fixed 19 , 19§7 > as a reasonable date
prior to such election after which no arguments for or
against said city measures may be submitted to him for
printing and distribution to the voters as provided in
said Article 4. Arguments shall be submitted to the City
Clerk at 2960 Pio Pico Drive. CarUbad* California •
Arguments may be changed until and Including said date
fixed by the City Clerk.
